Suds Laundry LLC("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform, website, and mobile applications (collectively, the "Platform").

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number
  • Addresses: pickup and delivery addresses, saved addresses
  • Payment information: processed securely through Stripe (we do not store full card numbers)
  • Order details: service preferences, special instructions, item descriptions
  • Communications: messages, reviews, support requests

Information collected automatically

  • Device information: device type, operating system, browser type
  • Usage data: pages viewed, features used, actions taken
  • Location data: when you grant permission, for routing and service area matching
  • Log data: IP address, access times, referring URLs
  • Cookies and similar technologies: for session management and analytics

Driver location

  • Our drivers are our own W2 employees. While a driver is on shift, the driver app records their GPS position no more often than every 30 seconds so we can route stops and show you where your order is.
  • While your order is on its way, the driver's most recent position is shown to you on your order tracking page. It is not shown to anyone else and it is not shown between orders.
  • Driver position history is deleted automatically after 24 hours. See Data Retention below.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Operate and maintain the Platform
  • Process orders and coordinate pickup and delivery
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Send transactional communications (order confirmations, status updates)
  • Send occasional non-transactional messages tied to your account, such as a referral reward notice or a request to review a completed order
  • Improve our services through analytics and user feedback
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and resolve disputes
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

With third-party services

  • Stripe: Payment processing
  • Supabase: Authentication, identity management, and database hosting
  • Vercel: Website and application hosting, which processes your requests and server logs
  • Resend: Email delivery
  • QUO: Text message delivery, our current SMS provider
  • Twilio: Text message delivery, kept as a backup provider
  • Expo: Push notification delivery to our mobile app
  • Inngest: Background job and event processing for order updates and notifications
  • Google Maps: Address validation and mapping
  • Sentry: Error tracking and monitoring
  • PostHog / Google Analytics: Usage analytics

We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Suds Laundry, our users, or the public.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), secure authentication via Supabase Auth, PCI-compliant payment processing via Stripe, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Order records are retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.

Driver GPS history is the exception and is kept for a much shorter time: position records older than 24 hours are deleted automatically every day.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
  • Request a portable copy of your data
  • Ask us to stop sending non-transactional messages such as referral or review requests

To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@sudslaundry.com. We will respond within 30 days.

To stop non-transactional messages, email or use the contact form and tell us which channel you want stopped. We will still send you the messages needed to complete an order you have placed, such as pickup and delivery updates and your receipt, for as long as that order is open.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Essential cookies: Authentication, security, session management
  • Functional cookies: Remembering preferences (theme, saved addresses)
  • Analytics cookies: Understanding usage patterns and improving the Platform

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect Platform functionality.

8. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
